CHICAGO -- Overall performance of fuel senders just got even better with availability of optional low level warning switches on all thick film fuel senders manufactured by Stewart Warner Instruments Corporation. Stewart Warner has a long history of supplying quality gauges, sensors, instrument clusters and electronic information display systems. The company provides a complete line of thick film fuel and pressure senders that have integrated the 150 Series MetriPak Connector to enhance sealing reliability and ease of connection.

Now, a low level switch can be built directly into thick film rheostats of Stewart Warner's fuel sending units and does not require any fuel tank changes. Each switch activates either a warning light or an in-dash buzzer to make the vehicle operator aware of low fuel levels. Fuel senders are available for tank depths ranging from 4 inches to 36 inches. Resistance matches include 90 ohm standard, 240 ohm standard and 30 ohm standard, or resistance can be tailored to the shape of the tank.

Stewart Warner fuel senders are easily adjustable and feature a rugged steel bracket with zinc dichromate finish for maximum strength and resistance to corrosion, shock and vibration. Also, included is a SAE five-hole flange offering universal mounting capability; and a .091 galvanized steel float arm guaranteed to maintain calibration, even in high vibration applications.

The MetriPak Connector eliminates potential failing by sealing out dirt, water and other contaminants which attack conventional wiring termination. Resistors that utilize Stewart Warner's thick film technology have a service life that is 10 or more times greater than wire wound resistors. Thick film rheostats also offer improved response consistency over wire wound senders.
