NEW STEWART WARNER VR-9000 SERIES SPEED SENSORS FOR HEAVY-DUTY AFTERMARKET

(Page of VR-9000 Specs & Part Numbers)

EL PASO, TX.-March, 2000. Maxima Technologies, the group enterprise that includes the Stewart Warner brand of vehicle instruments and accessories, has introduced a new series of Stewart Warner brand variable reluctance (VR) sensors for the heavy-duty aftermarket. Designed for vehicle, PTO and engine-speed sensing, VR-9000 Series Speed Sensors meet stringent O.E.M. requirements for high-performance and reliability. The company has announced that 11 standard models and five popular electrical "matches" are now available.

Three lengths are available: 2.35", 2.70" and 3.00" in single-output versions and 3.00" only for a dual-output version. Thread size is 3/4"-16. The system includes a Packard Weather-PackTM connector with 32" long wire, 16 AWG rated at 125°C, that is encapsulated in convoluted tubing. Units serve as direct replacement for existing magnetic sensors via easy screw-in installation with a jam nut, and two-wire hook-up through a plug-in connector.

Of particular note, VR 9000 Series sensors are hermetically sealed for protection against harmful liquid intrusion. In addition, the housing is constructed of a temperature and chemical resistant, engineered thermoplastic. As a result, this unit is among the first of its kind to achieve truly effective submersible construction.

VR Series sensors operate reliably in a temperature range of -40°C to + 150°C. Units are rated at 2500+ cycles of thermal shock, thus exceeding the requirements of many O.E.M.s.

VR Series sensors provide a self-generating electrical signal as well, no additional power supply is required. Resistance options include 270ohm, 670ohm and 940ohm for single-output sensors (measured at 20°C), and 830/1220ohm and 1150/1530ohm for dual-output sensors (at +/- 10%).

Stewart Warner is a high-quality brand produced by Maxima Technologies. Since 1905, when Stewart Warner brand instruments were first used on Model Ts, the brand name has been synonymous with high-quality market-driven products that appeal to O.E.M. and aftermarket customers alike. Maxima is a global manufacturer and full-service supplier of electronic controls, monitoring systems and vehicle accessories.
