EL PASO, TX.--March, 2000. Maxima Technologies, the group enterprise that includes the Stewart Warner brand of vehicle instruments and accessories, has introduced Stewart Warner brand transmission oil temperature gauge and sender kits for O.E.M. customers and the heavy-duty aftermarket. This system has been exclusively developed to monitor the transmission oil temperature of the popular Allison World Transmission (AWT), particularly in the high operating temperature range of 300°F to 350°F.

Four (4) kits have been released. Each kit includes a specially designed gauge and sender combination with an integral LED warning light feature that provides an active visual alert for the operator when temperatures exceed certain limits. Four combinations are available, as summarized in the table below:

Senders may be installed directly into the fitting at the transmission oil cooler port. Gauges can be set to trip points of either 300°F (for versions without a retarder) or 330°F (for versions with a retarder). These settings reflect the maximum intermittent oil temperature ratings for non-retarder and retarder models, respectively.
