NEW 835 SERIES PRESSURE SWITCHES FOR STEWART WARNER BRAND HEAVY-DUTY AFTERMARKET

LANCASTER, PA.--July, 1999. Maxima Technologies, the group enterprise that includes the AST, Datcon and Stewart Warner brands of vehicle instruments and accessories, has introduced a new standard line of pressure switches for use in most engine, hydraulic and air system related applications. Units are being marketed as the 835 Series through Maxima's Datcon and Stewart Warner brand distribution networks.

835 Series pressure switches are compact in size (measuring just 2.52" long x 1.47" wide) and easy-to-install. Units are compatible with a variety of hydrocarbon-based fluids and other operating media such as air (water and freon are not recommended). 835 Series pressure switches are configured internally with direct-action blade contacts in silver alloy, a zinc-plated steel base and a glass-reinforced polyester cover. Set point options include 4, 15, 60 or 100 psi. Circuits are available in either normally opened or normally closed positions (each with two terminals), or in a dual-circuit configuration with three terminals.

The unit's diaphragm is constructed of a rugged, temperature-resistant polyimide film that is used in conjunction with other critical parts such as a nitrile "O"-ring. As such, the system provides a sealed environment for protection against potentially damaging fluids and air permeability.

Operating pressure is rated at a maximum of 150 psi and proof pressure is 300 psi. Burst pressure is rated at 750 psi. The unit's pressure port is configured with 1/8"-27 NPT steel pipe threads. #8-32 screw terminals are provided for electrical connections. Electrical contacts are rated at eight (8) amps (resistive) @ 12 VDC and one (1) amp (inductive) @ 120 VAC. Units operate reliably in a temperature range of -20°F to 200°F.
